On the road to safety: Bavaria and the greater Munich region have been important centres at the heart of the automotive and insurance industries for a number of decades. That is why the Digital Hub Munich is connecting the insurtech and mobility sectors and trying to best meet the challenges of these industries, which are currently experiencing radical change, by using existing resources and expertise.
Bavaria is at the heart of the insurance and automotive industries. So it is only logical that the Digital Hub Munich has set itself the task of connecting the two. The backers can provide a wide range of services in both sectors: from accelerators, incubators and innovation programmes to implementation platforms, hackathons and awards, both Hubs are continuously working on innovative mobility solutions and insurance models adapted to them.
It is all about the future of mobility at Digital Hub Mobility Munich. Sustainable solutions are produced in conjunction with mobility and technology companies, municipalities, start-ups and the world of science. Digital products are developed and new mobility concepts are tested by networking important players. Digital Hub Mobility is based at UnternehmerTUM, Europe's biggest centre for start-ups and innovation, and uses this ecosystem to drive innovation for future-oriented mobility. In addition, the Hub offers programmes in the form of the Digital Mobility Lab and citizen mobility in which international and interdisciplinary teams work on the challenges associated with a rapidly changing mobility sector.

Team ANT.SPOT: an app for optimising the flow of traffic

A project team made up of talent from all over the world got together with the City of Hamburg to develop a digital application that improves the local flow of traffic. The starting point and challenge for the project were congested streets caused by delivery vehicles parked on the street. Such traffic offences can now be better detected with the aid of the digital solution and taken into consideration by the logistics companies when planning their routes.

Allianz and AirDoctor

The Israeli-based start-up AirDoctor has a global network of local doctors in over 60 countries. Using the healthcare app, travellers can quickly and easily make an appointment locally and do not have to pay in advance thanks to direct billing. Allianz became aware of the start-up in 2020 via the InsurTech Hub innovation programme and now offers the solution to its customers as an integrated service.
Fusionbase and Nürnberger Versicherung

The start-up Fusionbase offers access to over 1,000 external data sets, which it produces for automotive manufacturers and insurers for evaluation. Nürnberger Versicherung became aware of Fusionbase via the InsureTech Hub’s innovation programme while searching for a solution for accessing external data for claims management. As a result of having extensive access to the data, Nürnberger Versicherung can now better calculate risks and develop new insurance solutions on this basis.
Instahelp and LV 1871

LV 1871, which specialises in providing innovative occupational disability insurance cover, is committed to a preventive approach to mental health – with the help of the Austrian start-up Instahelp.
